Bringing books alive!

Hill Top Farm
Home of Beatrix Potter
We took our collection of Peter Rabbits and Flopsy's to Hill Top Farm - the home of Beatrix Potter. We took photos and awarded them each with a certificate and wrote a story of their adventure to the Lake District

The Amazon Rain Forest
Peru
My son announced one day he was off to Peru to volunteer at RARE in the Amazon Rain Forest ... who originated from Peru? That's right I made him take a suitcase of Paddington's!
They were all awarded a certificate and were sold with a story of their adventure.

Beach Meet-ups
Lee-on-the-Solent
We love a get together with our book club community. We have had many get togethers, either to read or just socialise. We've been to the cinema, have an art club, gone to the theatre, done 10k (Nesta's 10k) and had takeaways together, aswell as celebrating birthdays and ended up staying for dinner when doing deliveries!

Pooh Sticks bridge
Hartfield, East Sussex
On this occasion we scooped up all the Pooh Bears and Tiggers and took them on an adventure to Pooh Sticks Bridge! A couple of Pooh bears got a bit muddy but they ended up being the most desirable ones! Again, each was awarded a certificate and had their own story of the day.

Bodilean Library
Oxford
We were absolutely thrilled when our Manager Jazmine was proposed to by the lovely Liam in the Bodilean Library in Oxford!

Menabilly (Mandeley)
Fowey
On a trip down to Devon a spontaneous trip to the Daphne Du Maurier Museum led us to visiting her home of 25 years Menabilly, the inspiration for Mandeley. We walked in her footsteps down to the cove where she swam and the place f the shipwreck in Rebecca. A bucket list trip. Watch this space for a special Reading Retreat staying in one of the onsite cottages.....
Haworth
Also known as Bronte Country we regularly visit Haworth and visit the Parsonage where the family lived. It is next to the school opened by the girls and opposite the church where their father was the Parson. We are lucky enough to be able to stay directly opposite the church right on the High Street. We always take a walk across the moors down to the Bronte waterfalls and across to Top Withens - the inspiration for Wuthering Heights

Chatsworth House
June 2026 saw us attend the Jane Austen Festival and watch Pride and Prejudice on the big screen outside on the lawn. A trip we will be repeating. There is also a Pemberley Ball and an afternoon tea that you can take part in.
It is well worth a visit to Mr Darcy's House - his marble bust is still in the hall.
